End of Year Closing is the process of reviewing and adjusting all accounts to ensure they actively reflect the activities for the fiscal year. The purpose is to allocate the fiscal period net profit or loss to an equity/capital account (aka: retained earnings account).
You cannot use both scenarios at the same time, however, if a property has been using the Automatic method for prior years, you can change the Capital Account selection to Not Selected (this will change it to Manual method) and post an EOY entry through this application for each year of the property's data to catch up to the last year end. |
If a property has been setup to use Manual method, it cannot be reverted to Automatic. |
