Metadata is loosely defined as a method to store pieces of information related to other data in the system. Two tabs were created in the system allowing users to store information at the Property and Account record levels. Previously known as the Fees tab, Metadata has expanded on the ability to store different types of fees and information.
The setup of Metadata is accessed through SETUP | Property Setup | Metadata.
The fields are defined as follows:

Program Area |
Predetermined options. Hard-coded into system. These Metadata values can be coded into coupons or statements.
There are two special Metadata attributes that will tell you what the late fees are:
Fee - Late Sequence 1 Fee - Late % Sequence 1

Type |
Assigns a type to the Program Area the user selects. Before setting up a Metadata record, the Property Metadata Type must be created to correspond to the different Program Areas available. The Property Metadata Type options is setup through SETUP | Configuration Group | Program Defaults | Codes | Program Area: Property Metadata Type.

Value |
Amount given to the specific Metadata record. |

The user can add a note that helps them identify what the Metadata record is used for. |
Metadata values can be found in the Appendix | Property Metadata Values. Using the given scalar functions, a user can have information from a Metadata record pulled into a letter. |
